Programs in Nandolo
Several years ago, Newton Sindo, FVM’s Canada – Malawi Liaison Development Officer conducted an intensive demographic analysis of the Nandolo area south of Mulanje near the Mozambique border. His heart was filled with compassion and empathy for these people who, although living in the middle of lush foreign-owned tea plantations, had never had even the most rudimentary education and very little means of sustenance.
Again, the local government has asked FVM through Newton Sindo to partner with the local people to address their concerns with respect to basic needs and education.

- Feeding of 150 children daily with nutritious Likuni Phala.
- Basic preschool education through the dedicated volunteer efforts of Ellena.
- A nursery school has been constructed through the generous support of Meadowbrook Christian Fellowship in Columbus, Ohio. This is the first educational structure and facility in the history of the area.
- Justin Falinya and Newton Sindo pay regular pastoral visits to the area.
