6/30/2019

Picture
The period between Mid-May and Mid-June 2019 was full of usual activities but predominately kitchen building at Nandolo, Mulanje in Malawi. Mulanje is a district that receives rains almost 10 months in a year, and provision of food to children is a big challenge as women struggle to prepare the food in an open space.

                                         KITCHEN PROJECT IN PROGRESS

On June 8th, 2019, community members voluntarily excavated the land where a new kitchen would be constructed.  The building of a new kitchen will help serve the community and the needs of the preschool feeding program that operates in the area.  Bricks and other building materials were purchased, and along with the builder, community members joined together to commence the building of the foundation.  Special guests (Dan, Chris, Maggie, Zora and Jonathan Hayhoe) joined the community in working on the kitchen.

The kitchen construction project is estimated to be completed by July 30th, 2019.  Many thanks to donors who helped cover the costs for this important project.

Prayer Point
  • Malawi went through presidential, parliamentary and local government elections on May 21st, 2019 with a lot of irregularities. Issues are still being determined in court of laws. Please pray that peace may prevail.
