WHY?   Our mandate is “to minister to the needs of the whole person SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY”. Our focus is on Early Childhood Development which involves a very broad spectrum of initiatives reaching far beyond the individual child enabling whole families and entire communities to care for and support children within the context of their own culture.

SPIRIT… Regular pastoral care and counselling for individuals and families throughout the two communities we serve at Taulo and Nandolo.
           … Twice weekly radio broadcasting via Trans World Radio in the two main languages, Chichewa and Tumbuka, with a listening audience of over 3 million and numerous weekly responses.

SOUL …  educational assistance and scholarships for secondary (not free in Malawi) and post - secondary tuition. It costs FVM on average $50 per year to send someone to secondary school !! We also provide scholarships for academic excellence for students to attend universities and colleges. One young woman, Madalitso, has just graduated as a medical doctor.
         … FVM is also on the front line of a consortium advocating for rights for women, children (child marriages are now illegal in Malawi) and persecuted groups such as albinos.

BODY …

​Daily feeding of 700 children 5 days per week at the two nursery schools ( one in Taulo and one in Nandolo). The meal is locally sourced Likuni Phala ( soy protein fortified maize meal) at a cost of $20 per child for a full year!!

… partnership with Dignitas International has led to screening clinics at FVM’s Taulo site and follow up for treatment at the hospital. Non communicable diseases are rising very rapidly in Malawi … Hypertension, Diabetes and Cervical Cancer are real threats to health.
        … Eyecare initiatives continue in partnership with BICO community ophthalmology group. We have 125 patients waiting for glasses with custom lenses to the exact prescription produced within Malawi in new high quality frames. Cost per patient is $40 (total cost $5,000).

TESTIMONIAL

I am Shirrah Kagwamminga (pictured left) and I'm extremely excited because of what God has done in my life through Future Vision Ministries. I first received a scholarship as top of my class in secondary school. Just one month later I lost my mum who was a single mother since I lost my dad in 2009. I could not be telling this story today without FVM's scholarship.I have now graduated after four years at Lilongwe University of Agriculture, Bunda College, with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics with a scholarship from FVM throughout.

I am so grateful that you stood in the gap for me. it was never easy but you made it possible through all those years you supported me.  I am trusting God that I will be able to stand in the gap for others too as God continues to be faithful to me.
