From your friends at
Future Vision Ministries
This is a time of thanksgiving, family reunions, gift giving and reflection on the true meaning of Christmas.
As we come to the close of 2016 we are thankful for your interest in FVM and partnership with us. At a time when we are so easily drawn into the vortex of consumerism, many of you have joined with us in supporting our Malawian friends.
This has been a year of unprecedented challenge for them. The albino population has continued to suffer persecution, physical attacks and even murder throughout 2016 affecting a number of our “extended family”. Devastating food shortages and crumbling infrastructure have plagued the country in addition to the ongoing burdens of disease and poverty. FVM has partnered with other organizations, Malawian government agencies and the private sector in Africa to address these issues.
FVM has committed to rebuilding a bridge in Southern Malawi which has been washed out by repeated flooding. Several mountain communities will be reconnected to healthcare and education as a result.
We see this as symbolic of the bridge between North America and Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa, which we have joined together to develop for more than 20 years.
… and ultimately God has built a bridge connecting ourselves to Him through the birth of His son, Jesus, which is what Christmas is really all about!
May you and your loved ones enjoy a truly blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
