It continues to be the wet season here in Malawi and, unlike some seasons of heavy flooding, we have been receiving good rains.

Things look lush and beautiful during the wet season...as you can see from the beautiful flowers growing around FVM's Mulunguzi House.

We can be thankful for the rains helping the plants to grow, we are also very thankful for our dedicated stewards of Mulunguzi House, Peter, Luciano, Hastings and Macloud (pictured above).

Hello my name is...Hastings Makwinja. I joined FVM Team gardening at the Mulunguzi House in January 2020. I am so grateful that during the period I have learnt a lot of work and also enjoyed the brotherly love. I also enjoy the Bible sharing and morning devotions on Mondays and Fridays with fellow members of staff.  I lost both parents when I was very young and it has been my aged grandparents that have raised me up. In this team I have found a sense of belonging and I love my job so much!  I greet all of you.

What's been happening...

In an update of COVID in Malawi, similarly as around the world, many friends, relations, fellow believers and some development partners have been sick and some lost their lives. Schools remain closed. FVM continues to carry out activities within the COVID preventive measures as monitored by Malawi Government.

The main activity of the last month was distribution of Joyful News Gospel calendars.  Thousands of calendars have been distributed to thousands of people in various parts of Malawi. Most interesting is the calendar in the Yao language that has been printed for the first time ever. More than 80% of Yao speaking people in Malawi are Moslem because of the influence of the Swahili-Arab Traders in the 19th Century following the great demand for ivory and slaves in the East African markets, namely Zanzibar, Kilwa, Mombasa and Quelimane. These calendars have been a timely mode of sharing the Good News of Christ to our Moslem friends.

In family news, our children, Shalom (in picture) and Ebenezer, have been using
The Jesus Storybook Bible (a gift from FVM) to share the word of God in our household conducted devotions. It has been very encouraging.

Thank you for your prayers and support.
